I steer clear of ff.net and most places with true badfic, to insulate myself. That way I usually don't see it unless it's transformed into funny.
"Welcome to Sacred Heart" for just the reasons you mention. My second favorite is "Guy Love," because it's so beautiful and so right. Kind of a good point about not operating on her. Why wouldn't that have worked? Honestly, if I found myself in a hallucinogenic state in which everyone was singing, I think I would sorta dig it and want to sit back and appreciate the experience for at least a couple of weeks.
